First Handmade Market 23.10.2010

I mentioned earlier that I was preparing my display for the Handmade Market Birmingham. (http://www.facebook.com/HandmadeBham) The big day arrived and I attended the event in the weekend. It was such a nice experience, I really enjoyed it, and looking forward to doing it again.

I shared the table with Nicola from GewGaws http://www.folksy.com/shops/GewGaws and we made it so beautiful that I was really proud of it. (I guess she agrees : ) )

We got really good feedback and we both managed to sell a couple of things, so it was all great. : )

There were some interesting questions, I thought I'd share them to make you all laugh:
- how much is the stall (though we were not information centre) 3 different person, they don't want to sell handmade!!!
- why squirrel? (in the logo of Handmade Birmingham)
- do we have anything for £1??? LOL
- how much is the mirror? LOL LOL LOL

I'm not brave enough to post our photos, but here is some which show our table. What do you all think?

Made some jewellery displays

I'm going to have a stall at the Handmade Market Birmingham on the 23rd October (getting really exciting) with my friend Nicola http://www.folksy.com/shops/GewGaws . If you live in Birmingham, come and say hi to us. : )

Since this is the first time I have opportunity to sell (hopefully not only display, lol) my jewellery somewhere, I needed to find some displays. I wanted to have something really beautiful and unique, not simply some items made to display jewellery. So I got creative.

I found a lovely old (very ugly red) jewellery box with a lovely shape, which I was planning to paint gold with a crackled effect, but it didn't turn out the way I wanted it. Then I tried another method, I don't even waste time to explain it... didn't work, lol. I started to worry at that point, until today...

Inspiration came and managed to finish this particular box so nicely that I made an other box with the similar method too.

And the smaller one:

I also made some paper bags, I think they came out quite pretty.

Would you be happy to get your newly purchased jewellery in a pretty bag, or you don't mind if the bag is simple? Would really love to know what you all think.
Will make some more little ones for earrings, hopefully I'll find some more pretty paper tomorrow.

So here they are:

This is not all... (have been busy for some time now, maybe some of you noticed I'm a bit lost these days) I'll show off the rest after the event.

Any encouraging words are welcome for a first timer ; )

Folksy Friday - October Folkfest

I did not have time (and courage) to write a blog post since I moved to Blogger. I'm a bit worried if I can attach pictures to be honest, hopefully it will work out. Let's see...

I only chose 4 items today from the October Folkfest topic, I don't want to make it too difficult for myself for the first time, lol.

Ok, it was not that difficult, hopefully the links work too. Next time I may be able to do a proper Folksy Friday, I only need to figure out now, if it's possible to place the pictures in rows and colums, that way I could do 9 pictures too... Any help is appreciated. : )
